Self-Sabotage – Why Do You Do It?

Updated: Mar 13, 2022

Self-sabotage. What a pain in the butt it is when part of you wants to get ahead, do what’s most important, make your dreams a reality.

And maybe, for a while, you’re on track, on point, headed in the right direction.

How does self-sabotage show up for you?

Then self-sabotage turns up. It takes many forms: self-doubt, worry about what others think, believing you’re not good enough, haven’t got what it takes… Fill in the blank…

Sometimes it’s more sneaky. It shows up as tiredness, illness, simply feeling like you haven’t got the energy.

But when you look back, you can detect a pattern, a set way that you react to your own goals. It’s your particular way of tripping yourself up.

And it happens. Every. Single. Time.

But it doesn’t need to. Next time can be different.

Learn to defeat self-sabotage

But you need to make goals and learn to stick with them. It’s not just a life-changing confirmation of your ability to turn your life around. It’s also mindset changing. Which means that sticking to something helps you to build your self-belief. That in turns means you build up your self-esteem and sense of self-value. And others will begin to notice it too. Your vibe will change. You’ll seem more determined. And you’ll develop courage as a result.

Building self-belief is like building a magnet, one that attracts people and events to you. It’s almost magical the way that the world reacts to the new you.

The moment of change is right now!

It doesn’t matter how many times in the past you’ve let self-sabotage trip you up. The only moment that matters is this moment. Right now. The moment when you say to yourself ‘Enough is ENOUGH!’ This is when you close the curtain on the past, and pull back the curtain on a new stage in your life.

Doing something life-changing begins with mind-changing. By trying something new and different. Like life-coaching, hypnotherapy, meridian therapy. There’s so much out there that can help you overcome the self-defeating patterns of sabotage.

Start now. What action are you going to take now? Decide and do it.

And if you want some help with that – let me know.
