Happiness – It’s an Inside Job

Updated: Mar 13, 2022

Happiness. It’s an inside job. Nothing and nobody outside of yourself can be the source of your happiness.

Don’t fret, it’s great that you don’t have to be dependent on others to act the way you want them to, to make you happy. There’s no need to spend your money buying items to impress others, or to make you smile. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with buying items you enjoy. Just don’t get sucked into believing ‘things’ bring happiness. They don’t.

Happiness is a Practice

Happiness doesn’t just appear by magic. It’s actually a practice of responding to everything that happens by knowing that it’s part of the journey. By being in a state of gratitude for every lesson. By seeing the good that can evolve from every occurrence.

You don’t need divine intervention to turn a situation around. Or to make you happier in the moment. Instead you just need to remember that you’re the magic wand you’ve been searching for. It all begins with you.

So, starting today, begin by asking yourself:

‘What could be good about this situation?’

Even before your mind starts to answer the question, you’ll feel a gentle shift occur. That’s happiness stirring, waking up, rubbing its eyes, and beginning to focus on the good that you’ve overlooked.

It was inside of you all the time. It just takes practice.
